A bumper sticker you'd only see during a Bush administration...

Recently while driving in my car, I found myself behind a large SUV sporting a bumper sticker that read "Truth NOT Tolerance." I felt the hair follicles on the back of my neck rise instinctively; but not really knowing what it meant, I jotted the unsavory words down for later internet research. Sure enough, I found nonsense like this and crap like this. Only during a Bush administration.

You have to remember something: we are dealing with morons here.
People that want to make their beliefs public policy.
Without any basis in law or to a greater extent the Constitution.

Now, I know what they are saying in certain instances, that "the homosexual agenda" is pushing their beliefs on others. But it's not. What two gays do is none of my business and them being able to get married means nothing to my marriage to my wife.
However, when you try to keep gays from getting married then somebody is being marginalized.
Don't even get me starte on the whole "war on Christmas" crap.
As if Christmas has been turned into anything but a means for the Wal Marts of the world to make a shitload of money..

I feel your pain, Mike. We ARE dealing with morons, and I think that's what bothers me most... the whole dummying down of our culture.

I'm a little surprised that Kill Bill O'Reilly is mouthing off on the "War on Christmas." He's a jackass conservative to be sure, but I've never noticed him identify with the religious element of his right-wing ilk before. He usually sticks exclusively with the crony fat cats, so I'm finding it quite delicious that he's dipping his stick into "Christian" territory. This from a guy who quickly paid hush money to the chick who cried sexual harrassment. It's like Rush L. going off on rx drug addicts.

What pisses me off about most of the Christian Right is that they are the first ones to criticize everyone else's flaws and problems yet when the shit hits the fan and their 'Christian' fascade comes off many times they end up being worse than any person they've ever critizied. I mean I don't want to generalize all the Christian Right as being nothing but hypocrites but come on there is nothing worse than using yourself as a standard of moral descency when there is no one perfect and everyone ends up being inevitably flawed in some way or another.

Pix - The irony of what you speak of, of course, is that one of the doctrines of Christianity is about not judging others. You're right... so many hypocrites. And they always fall back on that bullshit line, "not perfect but forgiven," which is like basically saying, "I've got a free pass to fuck up but you don't, neener, neener, neener." Jackholes.
