The Countdown is On

Only 1 hour 45 minutes until the season premiere of Grey's Anatomy, bitches! I don't even care what happens, I'm so hungry for some new episodes. (I say that now, but I'm sure I'll be bitching about some plot point soon enough.)

In other news, I'm listening to Spread Radio Live which is like a pirate radio show Dave Navarro runs from his house. He does it 2-3 times a week live and the rest of the time, you can hear the archives. In between calling his friends on the air, he plays an extremely eclectic mix of music. He just played "Conjunction Junction" (School House Rock) followed by Steely Dan's Deacon Blues. It's always entertaining. Check it out.

Quick Grey's Question: Was is screwed up for anyone else? I watched an episode at 8pm which was the second show of season three. Then at 9pm the season premiere came on. It was backwards and very confusing as to what was going on. Then next week's episode is going to be the episode I watched first. Did ABC screw up and show the wrong one?

If no one else did, I saw the episode where Burke's parents come. It was good!

OMG, Mishy! My first hour was the "recap" episode. The second hour was clearly the first episode. No sign of Burke's parents yet (and I was disappointed because I've seen the preview, and that looks like hot shit!). It was an episode of a lot of flashbacks, but flashbacks we've never seen. Addison thinks back to when Derrick caught her in bed with Mark and the subsequent fight they had (their house in NY was awesome), Meredith thinks back to when she was a kid on a merry-go-round and she sees her mother having an argument with Richard in the distance. Christina, Izzy, and George think back to a mixer they had for new residents. They didn't tie up many of the loose ends, and they had a couple medical story-lines (including the bubonic plague). The episode I saw was defintely in order. But I'm dying to see the episode you saw, which must be the second episode.

Oh, Addison finds Meredith's panties in Derrick's coat jacket at home, ends up washing them, and taking them back to the hospital and putting them on the bulletin board.

What? I am super confused by all this.

The first episode for me was where Burke's parents come and meet Christina, Merideth makes her choice, and the panties are found on the bulliten board by Bailey and she freaks out.

Then, at 9pm, I saw the episode where Izzy is lying on the floor throughout.

So imagine my confusion last night. I was like, wait, why is Izzy back in the pink dress when in the hour before she was wearing clothes?

So to clarify, your first episode, nothing new happened?

Ahhh... After some investigative research:

CTV to air Grey's Anatomy premiere Sept. 28

Dear Grey's Anatomy fan

As you may be aware, CTV inadvertently broadcast episode 2 of Grey's Anatomy yesterday. It was not the premiere we were all waiting for.

As fans of this show ourselves, we understand fully the disappointment and frustration that this has caused.

To rectify the situation CTV will air the season premiere episode in its entirety at 7 pm CT, 8 pm ET/PT and 9 pm MT/AT next Thursday September 28th, 2006.

Once again we at CTV apologize for the inconvenience this error has caused.

Thank you
CTV

My television station broadcast episode 2 and I was able to catch the season premiere on another channel. So, guess I have a lot of spoilers stuck in my little head. The rest of you lot have to wait a week. Suckas!

Mish - To be clear, the first hour of Grey's for me was just a recap show of the last season. It was filled with scenes we've all seen before put together to kind of catch the viewer up.

The second hour was what I will call Episode One since it was the first episode of the new season. In that show, not too much happened plot-wise. It was basically a lot of fall-out from the season finale.

A recap:

Izzy spent the entire episode on the floor at home in her prom dress while George, Cristina, and Meredith all took turns lying on the floor talking with her. There was zero mention of what she's going to do next.

Richard's wife came to the hospital and told him she wants him to retire. Looks like they are setting them up to split. (hmm... Richard and Burke's mother hook up?)

They only showed Burke at the very end when Cristina came to visit him at the hospital. She got in bed with him to cuddle and told him not to die.

Bailey had to ID Denny's body in the body bag before he was shipped to Memphis at the request of his family.

Finn came to Meredith's house and told her he didn't want to know what happened between her and Derrick, but he was still interested. Derrick came by and told Meredith that he was in love with her and that he had made the wrong choice and asked her to choose him over Finn.

There were two medical cases, one involved a newborn baby found in a dumpster at a high school, the other one involving the plague.

So if that was the episode they showed in your second hour, yes, they showed your episodes out of order.

I haven't seen the episode you saw with Burke's mother, Bailey freaking out over the panties on the bulletin board, Meredith's choice, etc. I'm DYING to see that episode!

YES, you've got the spoilers! Was there any mention of what Izzy is going to do next?

It was good. Not great. But certainly not bad. I liked the flashbacks. The whole Meredith "pick someone" is getting a bit tired. (The vet or the doctor? Yawn.) And the fact the vet is okay with her bangin' the doc at the fake prom. (Kinda tired!)

Still quite watchable based on the other characters.

Word, Flix. Meredith is the least interesting character on the show (followed by George).

I liked how Cristina created the word "McGuilty." That was hilarious.

Sounds like the next episode is a little more interesting.

Not to spoil anything, but next episode is much more interesting than the season premiere was. Burke's mama was hilarious, and Izzy's position becomes more clear.
