The Other Side of the Mirror
About Me
- Name: LA
- Location: Southern California
I often find myself going through life, shaking my head in disbelief at what I see. And then sometimes I am awed by something so stunningly beautiful that I'm breathless. I hope to document both here.

We must not confuse dissent with disloyalty. We must remember always that accusation is not proof and that conviction depends upon evidence and due process of law. We will not walk in fear of one another. We will not be driven by fear into an age of unreason, if we dig deep in our history and our doctrine, and remember that we are not descended from fearful men not from men who feared to write, to speak, to associate and to defend causes that were, for the moment, unpopular. - Edward R. Finally. We had a day like this today, too.
I just noticed flags at half mast the other day. It took me a moment to put two and two together.
I've enjoyed lovely weather this weekend as well.
lots of flags at half mast in the desert, but it made me think - what are the criteria for lowering flags to half mast? I'm not suggesting they should not have been lowered for this tragedy, but I thought they generally were lowered over head of state/political figures dying? Or am I just making this up?
Diane - You're not making it up, and you raise a good point. I'll wiki the query a little later and see if I can find any guidelines.
I like cars and I like shows. Too bad I missed it!
Seems you had a wonderful walk through the car show.
