RS/SN Week 5 - Elimination
So the genius of reality television is that they throw surprises at you every episode to make it impossible to predict the next outcome. Twenty four hours ago, I was certain Jill or Zayra would be eliminated by now. Turns out, Zayra wasn't even in the bottom three (how she wasn't and Patrice was reeks of a fresh mowing of the grassy knoll). Jill was, but she totally delivered and performed Heart's Alone without oversinging yet still showcasing her voice. I found this picture of Jill and her husband on his website (he's a professional musician, too) along side you'll-never-believe-who. Dana rounded out the bottom three and was ultimately sent packing, which was fine by me. She's 22 years old, and was totally out of her element and ill-suited to this competition. It was kind of anticlimactic for me, because once I saw Dana's performance, I knew she was done. Thus ends week 5, and one-third of Rockstar Supernova is over.How Zayra has survived one-third of the show is impossible to comprehend. If, five weeks from now, she is still not eliminated, then I'm going to go hunt down Mark Burnett myself and read him the riot act.
Gilby Clarke announced that next week, their challenge is to individually write lyrics and a melody to a new Supernova tune. It wasn't clear, but I took it to mean that's what they'll be performing next week. That's good, solid competition and could really separate the poseurs from the real thing. I'm totally looking forward to that.
By the way, how sweet is the mansion?

We had a crazy thunderstorm up here and my power was out for most of the night. It did however come back on momentarily to show that Dana was going home. WHAT? I may not have known who was even in the bottom three, but if Jill was there, she should have been the one sent packing. She's a trainwreck. Dana may not have been suitable for the band, but she was giving it her all and for the last few weeks, wasn't sucking totally hard.

dang. does eva longoria ever stay home? she would show up for the opening of an arby's. i hate her tool of a boyfriend too. you know she's riding his huge schlong and just nasty as all get out when doing it. okay, i'm officially jealous of eva longwhoria now.
