Kitty - Poor Kookla! I would hate to be sick in this heat. Even in the best of health, it's pretty hard to stay hydrated right now. I'm waiting for an earthquake, but then, I'm an alarmist.
LA - You are telling me. I just got back from Tucson, where it was 115. When I got back home to Sacramento last night, it was 101 at 9:00 PM, with a crap load of humidity, which is rare for our area. When I got home, I walked into a 95 degree house, because I turned the A/C off when I left for vacation, not knowing that it was going to be insanely HOT. I went over to my friends house and spent the night, while my A/C cooled my house down overnight. I am listening to the newscast right now, and they said that we have shattered a record, 10 days above 100 degrees, with 2 more on the horizon. My swimming pool isn't even refreshing, it feels like bath water.
I often find myself going through life, shaking my head in disbelief at what I see. And then sometimes I am awed by something so stunningly beautiful that I'm breathless. I hope to document both here.

man, oh, man it was fucking so hot today in San Diego.
we went out to the desk this morning to read the paper and have coffee like normal and it was an oven out there at 10am.
I can't complain too much, we have central air in the house. Even setting it for 78 or 79 and it was kicking on fairly often..
Joy - I'll be watching the countdown.

This heat is making me crankier than usual and more hyper than usual from all the iced coffee I'm sucking down. I'm praying for rain.
