Nucking Futs!

I didn't watch Jericho on CBS last season, but I know a lot of people who did. Seems the show was universally loved by those who tuned in.

Anyway, maybe you have already heard about this, but in case you haven't, Jericho fans have been protesting its cancellation to CBS by sending the network NUTS.

Apparently in the last scene of the finale, the town of Jericho was told to surrender by a neighboring enemy town, and the lead character's reply to that was "Nuts!" So when the cancellation became official, fans convened on message boards, and the idea of sending nuts to the network was born. Pretty soon, everyone starting going to NutsOnline to place their orders. The NutsOnline folks responded in kind by making a special
Jericho Nuts page, and they are doing pooled orders and allowing fans to simply make a donating starting with as little as $5.00 to the daily pool (those guys are geniuses, BTW). When you check out, you can send CBS your personal message, which are posted here.

Like I said, I didn't watch Jericho, but I think I'm going to go ahead and donate just because I love this story so much.

It will be interesting to see how this one plays out. Once the viewers get involved, anything is possible!

What a great story. If one of my favorite shows was canned I am sure I would be devestated. I am sure that I could have counted on your support LA if Bros & Hos was canceled after the first season. We would have had to taken our anger to the streets! I think I would have gone as far as conducted a sit-in at ABC headquarters.

No doubt the writers would know this but the kids sending in the nuts prob don't.

"Battle of the Bulge WW2: Violent fightings took place on 19 December in Neffe, Wardin and Noville. On 20 December, the city of Bastogne was surrounded. German emissaries were sent on 22 December to require the American capitulation; McAuliffe gave them his famous answer: "Nuts".

I love this idea. If my favorite show were cancelled I'd just be bummed but I'd never think to do anything about it.

Jericho was one of three things I had to watch every week. (The other two being Heroes and the Stargates, SG1 and Atlantis). It was well written and played into a lot of the fears I had growing up in the 1960's. (Heck living between NYC and the Groton sub base, I would have been nuked for sure, so nothing to worry about, right?) Maybe a Sci Fi or USA could pick the show up?????

LA: does your Bose docking station also recharge the ipod?

what price range is appropriate for a Bose that recharges as well as plays?

Ffleur - Yes, my sound dock does indeed recharge my iPod.

I paid $300 (US). I'm not sure I can address your second question because I didn't price other brands, and as far as I know, Bose only offers the one model (it comes in two colors, black and white). Of course, that was a year ago, so there may be other models and prices now. The reason I was so single-minded in my brand choice is because of the superb sound quality Bose provides. My iPod and docking station are now my home stereo, and together, they fill my home with tremendous sound.

Can you tell I'm happy with my choice?

I found this web site for a Bose docking station but haven't yet found a store, here in town, that carries it.

Look at that price difference! $100 more than you paid a year ago. Not fair!

I have a pink mini ipod. So what colour docking station do you think would look better? Black or white?

Ffleur - Is $399 in Canadian dollars the equivalent to US $299?

On Amazon, it's down to $269. Check it out:
http://www.amazon.com/Bose-SoundDock-digital-music-system/dp/B000F4CVQC/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/105-8987724-0194029?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1180418331&sr=8-1

BTW, I think either black or white looks good with pink. I'd make my choice based on the decor of the room it's going in. My living room has lots of black accents, including my TV, VCR, and DVD player, so I wanted all my accessories in that room to match.

I know the Cdn dollar is doing better but there still could be that difference. Its possible they are $100 apart.

A "Bose" clone might be the answer simply because the original is so expensive. I'll do more research.

Thanks for all your great advice. And you are right, either black or white would do fine with pink. I'm leaning to white due to my decor.
