This so cool LA, I love salt water fish. It does remind me of Get Flix.

I think it's a variation of the same "breed" as Getflix' avatar. I'd love to get a tank, but I'm afraid I'd have cats torturing fish, and I couldn't stand that.

It is a trigger fish, just like the picasso trigger featured as my avatar. There's a big deal about this guy right now. He is currently the Hawaiian state fish, but some folks want to change it because this fish is not native to the islands. He is found in other tropical waters.

Triggers are exceptionally smart. I have a Niger Trigger, and he is electric blue and originates from the Red Sea. I recently put him in a bigger tank beside my computer. When he is hungry, he comes out and lets me know it dinnertime. They are smart enough to understand what is occuring outside the tank.

They are also a great beginner fish. They are tough as hell. And if you provide the required rock or cave, can hide in a second at the threat of danger. They conform their bodies to the inside of any protective surface, making it very diffcult for any furry paw to reach. I love trigger fish. (Thanks for the cool post!)

Have a great trip!

Flix - Triggers sound like cool fish and smart enough to hide from my cats! I'm curious about how big they are? Thanks - LA

LA, I got mine online at Saltwaterfish.com and he arrived at 4 inches. I recommend this site for fish and info, as they have several forums that really cover all the issues.

He's now about 7 inches, and just got himself a 35 gallon upright. He's very happy. They are among the easiest saltwater fish to keep.

I'll post some pictures of him with more info on my blog this weekend.

Uhh... I'm fish retarded. However, I used to have one of those little plastic tanks of Sea People on my desk where I used to work. I went on vacation for a week, and upon my return a friend 'cleaned my tank' for me. BWAHHHAHA!! It was so sad, but so funny!! She was so proud of herself, doing something so nice. And the look of shock on my face I think cleared that up for her really quickly :) Oh well, they are probably living in a sewer somewhere and are preparing to take over the world.
